Lucid Thoughts Archive

Below you can access the full library of Lucid Thoughts going back to 2003.

Our Lucid Thoughts are a personal reflection on aspects of project or programme management upon which we have a particular and sometimes controversial view.

We write a Lucid Thought at least six times a year and you'll see we are approaching 100 of these.

We have not written with any themes in mind, rather we've captured what has been uppermost in our mind based on experience with our clients at the time of writing. However, there are five recurring themes that we have used to group our LucidThoughts into five chapters.

The five chapters cover:

Chapter 1: The difference between knowing something and actually doing it

Chapter 2: Barriers to adoption of tried and tested methods

Chapter 3: A new spin on old topics - re-energising the basics that work

Chapter 4: Making decisions in uncertain situations

Chapter 5: Human beings make projects and programme work
