Some projects and programmes are pivotal in determining the future of an organisation, whether opening profitable new markets or failing to meet regulatory deadlines and incurring the displeasure of a regulator.
Our project and programme health-check provides an informed, external view of the status of the work, given its goals and the chosen execution strategy . These health-checks can be done at stage-gates, following a major shift in direction, when there is change in key personnel, or the project or programme appears to be in difficulty.
What are the reasons for commissioning an independent health-check?
In some instances, the team just needs some support: reassurance on the things they are doing well; identification of opportunities or omissions; and advice on areas for improvement.
In some instances, the information passed to senior management is not reliable: despite wanting to be objective and transparent, being human, those intimately involved in the project or programme can occasionally be subject to “irrational exuberance” or be tempted to be “economical with the truth”, especially if things are going badly.
Health-checks are scoped in line with the organisation’s requirements and undertaken by experienced Lucidus consultants working closely with the project or programme team, sponsors and other key stakeholders.
